    Description

1883 HAWAII DIME SOAPBAR ANACS AU50 LUSTROUS SILVER WITH COLORFUL CONFETTI TONE. The Dime boasts the lowest mintage of 1883 dated Hawaii issues, at 249,974. The Red Book states, "After Hawaii became a U.S. Territory in 1900, the legal-tender status was removed and most were withdrawn and melted", The result was to make these a scarce issue, with a population of only 1,028 across all grades at PCGS.  This example is quite pleasing to the eye, with a palette of blue and reddish golden amber.
