Early 1900s Stimpson No.40 Vintage Leaner Candy Scale

Early 1900s Stimpson No.40 Vintage Leaner Candy Scale.  This 1900s candy scale has original paint which does show some chipping off from and reveals the Gray primer underneath. The original paint appears to be gold colored. Nothing has been restored or done differently on this scale.  I used a paint brush to wipe away some of the heavier dusty areas as the scale had been sitting on a shelf in my father's home for probably 75 or 80 years and had quite a bit of dust that cumulated on it. I'm sure it the entire scale could use a nice cleaning inside and out but I did not want to ruin anything so I just did a very mild surface cleaning with a gentle paintbrush. The components seemed to move freely when I place weight on the scale but I'm sure there could be an improvement in the movement with a cleaning or adjustment as well. Like I said this scale wasn't really used for most of its life it just sat on the top shelf of the cabinet collecting dust. Please see the pictures for full details.
