    Falkland Islands 2007 25th Anniversary of the Liberation 50p Coin
    The 25th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Falkland Islands was celebrated on 14th June 2007 and to mark this significant historical event, Pobjoy Mint are proud to announce the release of the first ever circulating coin, produced on behalf of the Government of the Falkland Islands. The new collectors coin designed to commemorate the Liberation is a 50 pence piece depicting a magnified map of the Falkland Islands in the background with a back view of a Yomper in the centre. and The marching figure is seen carrying a rucksack on his back with a Union Flag. and Approved by Buckingham Palace the obverse of the coin bears a fine couped effigy of Her majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS FSNAD. and This commemorative coin is produced to the highest quality and is available in Uncirculated Cupro Nickel and Proof Sterling Silver. Each beautifully engineered precious metal coin has been struck four times to create the Pobjoy proof finish, resulting in a stunning mirror-finish background with the design sculpted in striking relief.
