    Taisho 6 (1917)
    50 Sen KM. Y37.2 -
    Toned Obverse
The 50 Sen Coin Is Equal To 1/2 Of A Yen And Was First Minted In 1870 During The Meiji Period. Though Minted By The Hundreds Of Thousands, The 50 Sen Was Not Always Seen In General Circulation By The Turn Of The 20th Century. Eventually By 1938 All Silver Coining For The 50 Sen Was Discontinued And Withdrawn From Circulation Then Replaced  With Brass Alloy In 1946 The 50 Sen Value Was Removed  Overall From Circulation By 1953.
This Example Offered Is The 6th Year Of The Taisho Reign (1917) With The Mintage Of 9,964,232. It Is Quite Seldom To Acquire Uncirculated Coins In Lofty Grades As This Is An Exceptionally Favorable Specimen Displaying Rainbow-Like Toning On The Obverse Complimented With A Blast White Reverse. Cartwheeling Is Seen Through The Toning And Graded By
    NGC MS-65+
