Unknown Original First World War US Army Coastal Artillery Corps Sleeve Patch

Nice, original First World War era US Army Coastal Artillery Corps (CAC) shoulder sleeve insignia in excellent condition. Embroidered design on thick, wool serge with a raw, unfinished edge. This appears to have been removed from a jacket, but looks to be in excellent condition, with no signs of wear. I have been unable to find a specific reference to this design with the wings spreading out from the shell. This may actually pre-date the war, as the Corps was created in 1901
